Why Tartarini
Tartarini Auto has been building autogas systems in Bologna since 1950 — one of the oldest and most trusted names in the world. We chose their systems because they integrate flawlessly with the electronics of modern engines, especially Mercedes-Benz.

We inspect the engine and valves and recommend the right system — or tell you honestly if converting your vehicle isn’t worth it.

Tartarini system fitted in 2–3 working days: tank, injectors, fuel-selector switch. No permanent modification to the engine.

Electronic tuning on your specific engine, road tests and a complete file for registering the conversion on the vehicle licence.

Free re-check at the first 1,000 km and regular LPG filter service every 20,000 km — at the same workshop that knows your car.

Frequent questions
Does LPG damage the engine?
No — provided the system is installed and tuned correctly and maintenance is kept up. On engines with sensitive valve seats we fit a protection system (flashlube).
How much performance does the car lose?
With a modern sequential-injection system like Tartarini, the power difference is 2–3% — you practically won’t feel it in everyday driving.
What about boot space?
We usually fit a toroidal tank in the spare-wheel well — the boot stays free. Capacities range from 42 to 66 litres.
Is the conversion legal? Does it pass inspection?
Absolutely. We hand over a complete file (installer declaration, component certificates) for the vehicle-licence registration, and the car passes the technical inspection (KTEO) with the special LPG check.
How long until it pays for itself?
At 15,000 km per year, the installation usually amortises in 12–18 months. Use the calculator above for your own numbers.
